Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a tax receipt?
Not at this time. The parish is incorporated as a non-profit and is preparing for charitable status. We will update this site when we can issue receipts.
How do I give?
The easiest way is an Interac e-Transfer to donate@pochaev.ca with the message “Building Fund.” You can also give by cheque. See Ways to give.
Is the building secure?
Yes. A formal long-term lease protects all the labour and donations put into the building.
How is my gift used?
Every gift goes to the restoration work, one phase at a time. Each month we share what’s been raised, spent, and the work completed.
Are the costs firm?
They are estimates. We get contractor quotes before work begins, and each phase starts only when its funds are in place.
Can I give anonymously or in someone’s name?
Yes. Give in honour or memory of someone, for their health, or anonymously. Just tell us.
What if more than the goal is raised?
The extra goes to Phase 4: siding, a cupola and belfry, a balcony, landscaping, parking, and a kitchen upgrade.
Is the belfry drawing the final design?
No. It is a conceptual rendering of a possible future belfry and cupola, not a final design.
Why does the parish need a church of its own?
Our parish has long outgrown its current space. A permanent church home gives us room to worship, gather, welcome others, and grow, and lets us serve the Divine Liturgy in a temple of our own.
Can I help if I can’t give?
Of course. Please keep our parish and the restoration in your prayers. You can also share our story, volunteer, donate materials or trade services, or connect us with someone who can help. Email info@pochaev.ca.
